Dachshunds are very loving and wonderful dogs, but they are also some of the most stubborn creatures that you will ever meet. This book really helped us to understand how to train and relate to our new puppy. We were ahead of the game when it came to potty training and discipline because of this book. I highly recomend this Dachshunds for Dummies for all dachshund owners (both present and potential).

Good book and informative. A must buy for anyone who is thinking of adopting/purchasing a dog of this particular breed.

It's a perfect book for first time doxie owners! For those who really wants to take good care of their dogs plus doing a more effective training: buy the book before having the dog! There are a lot of interesting & fun tips so... sharing your flat with a dog can be a pleasant experience!
This book is a how-to guide that turns the reading time at the same time fun & entretaining. The chapter's division makes easy to find the topic you wish. It's not a book for those who wants lots of pictures, though.
If you want ilustration + information I suggest "Dachshunds, A Complete Pet Owner's Manual", "The Dachshund Handbook" and "The Essencial Dachshund".

This book is a "must have" for first time Dachshund owners and great for any Dachshund owner. It is written in the same format as all the other "for Dummies" books which is easy to read and offers pointers and suggestions along with the text.

I didn't think this book was helpful at all. It was too general. I also read Golden Retrievers for Dummies, and there were many similarities. I wanted a book specific to Dachshunds. Questions were posed by the writer, but never fully answered. I don't feel I know any more about Dachshunds now than before I read the book.
