After a few minutes of trying to figure out top and bottom, we put the hammock in my car. The dog had no trouble getting in the car and it has kept her from climbing into the front seat. It also keep my car cleaner

After scanning some reviews I decided to cave and buy it, though I should have taken the hint when most reviewers had small animals. I have a Great Dane that weighs about 180 lbs. I have a new truck that I would like to keep in tact and taken better care of. I love my dog and would never ban him from riding with me because of the new vehicle, but I thought this would help. The hammock fits ok, but when my dog gets on it, the straps slips and it slides.
For right now it will have to do the trick until get something a little better, until then I'll just play around with it a to see what works.
Aside from the material feeling a little thin, it does the job. It did grab the dirt and extra hair that came from him when I tested it out.
Also I don't know what the "smell" everyone is talking about, from the reviews you'd think it was absolutely horrendous, when in fact far from it. Smells like plastic to me and even so you have to stick your nose on hammock to smell anything. I agree with the others that mentioned leaving the hammock out for a day for so if your that sensitive to it the "smell."

This product is worth every penny. Despite what others say, this product does not smell bad at all. It had a minor odor so I set it up and left the windows cracked for a few hours. In the hot Texas heat (which normally accentuates odor) the smell vanished. It works perfectly in my 2010 Lexus IS250--wide enough to tuck the sides in and attaches sturdily to the headrests. The only thing I would like to change and easily will....I wish that there was a small mesh square for the back air vents to circulate better. So, I'm going to insert my own so the dogs don't get nearly as hot. Other than that I couldn't be happier! Thanks Outward Hound and Entirely Pets! I'll be buying a few more of these for friends and family members!

The back seat hammock works well and serves it's purpose. It took just a few minutes to install, nothing complicated. It keeps the dog hair off the seats, nails from scratching or puncturing the leather, and helps keep them in the back and from falling/slipping to the floor. My dogs are big and get pretty excited to go for a ride, but after several rides and two camping trips, it's held up very well. No tears, or wear noticed at all. We have a Jeep Grand Cherokee, and the hammock fits exact. Not an inch to spare,it comes right to the edge of the seat on the sides. I guess I would have liked it to come over the seat just a little for a bit extra coverage, but all in all it works great! And for the price....yeah, you can't beat it!

Great product. I drive a 2-door Pontiac Grand AM and my 86 lb Chesapeake Bay Retriever goes in the backseat with this. Installs VERY easily, and keeps my backseat looking nice. We went on a long car ride last week and he had an accident, so I just took it out and hosed it off. Good as new. No complaints here.
