 Way too stiff... June 19, 2008
Bought it for my mid-size dog. Couldn't believe how stiff it was. I'm sure it works well, but my dog is too uncomfortable in it.

This is the best life jacket that I have found for our dog. Our dog wears a life jacket when we sail, and since sometimes that is at night, the reflectors are important if he ever fell overboard. The fit is very good, and since it has both velcro and buckles, it is very secure. The handle is also very helpful for helping the dog get in/out of the boat. This jacket is better than life jackets I have found at boating supplies stores. We've been using it every weekend for about 2 or 3 years, so it has been very durable.

I ordered this one after previously buying 1 size smaller for my jack russel terrier. This one is a little big, and I needed to alter it, but the other one was too tight. After alteration it fits well, it is made very well, and lots of 'floating' power!. The handle is great for the boat; I can lower him into the water for a quick cool-off, and then right back into the boat!
If it ever wears out, I'll buy another.
