Houndogman-a book for all ages September 14, 2007
This book by the author of the timeless story Ol Yeller is not about the boy telling the story and only partially about trailhounds and treeing hunting dogs. It is about a lifestyle that is not possible any more, and about the big thicket area of Texas when it was being settled by pioneer famlies, but mostly it concerns a wanderer called the houndogman and how his days of wandering the wilderness with his dogs was put to an end by a pretty girl with a plan. Thouroughly enjoyable reading for entire family, but if you an anti-hunting type I wouldnt reccomend it.I liked it so much ive been using the name as my handle all over the web for 8 years. I also highly reccomend "Ol Yeller" for those who have never read it and the little known "Savage Sam" son of ol yeller and also made a disney movie like ol yeller was.
