Product Description
Exciting, sensitively told tale of a courageous animal pursued by a determined, two-legged predator with a deadly weapon. Valuable lessons about nature and wildlife in this illustrated, easy-to-read text about a handsome creature and his helpful friends in the Green Forest.
Download Description Peter Rabbit was on his way back from the pond of Paddy the Beaver deep in the Green Forest. He had just seen Mr. and Mrs. Quack start toward the Big River for a brief visit before leaving on their long, difficult journey to the far-away Southland. Farewells are always rather sad, and this particular farewell had left Peter with a lump in his throat, -- a queer, choky feeling.

Childhood Classic July 25, 2001 3 out of 5 found this review helpful
One of the books that I most remember from childhood. This book would be especially of interest to children who have an interest in animals and nature. I read many of the other books in this series also.

I know this book is old, but it's clean, and written well.
This is the favorite book from my childhood and I'm over 40! June 5, 1999 7 out of 7 found this review helpful
This is a wonderfully descriptive tale of the conflict between deer and hunter from the deer's point of view. Lightfoot is a sweet and gentle deer. The description of the process of growing and shedding antlers is something I found fascinating as a child. To this day, I go back and read this book again every year.
