Product Description Mandy and her best friend James are used to dealing with animals in distress. But ghostly animals in distress are a different matter...One day, while out riding, Mandy gets separated from her cousin and lost in the fog. She comes across a lone foal who mysteriously disappears back into the mist. Mandy meets a local girl who is haunted by the death of her own foal, Curiosity. When she learns that Curiosity lost his life in the fog, Mandy begins to wonder -- was Curiosity the mysterious foal she saw? If it is Curiosity, can Mandy discover why he came back?

Pretty good story May 15, 2005 I liked this book, but the author did not pay close attention to detail in his writing. For example, the horses change color and gender throughout the book, which takes away from the story. Otherwise, it was good and I look forward to reading more Animal Ark stories.
Foal in the Fog December 9, 2004
This book was a great horse mystery. It is by Ben Baglio and is good for a person who likes ghosts or horses. It was written well, and it has a good plot and well described characters that seem real. The main character, Mandy, is kind and likes animals, and her cousin Louise is outgoing and funny. The plot takes place at Whitehorse Stables. Mandy is going to visit her cousin Louise. While riding, Mandy hears a car crash and sees a strange foal in fog. Later, they visit Louise's friend, Anna, and Mandy finds out that Anna's old foal died in a car crash in fog. It turns out only Anna and Mandy can see the foal, and Anna thinks the foal has come back to hurt her. In the end, Anna learns that the foal didn't want to hurt her, just help another horse and make her feel better. Anna adopts the horse the foal saved, and Mandy names him Wisp. The theme of the book is that sometimes you have to move on. I would recommend this book to kids 12 and under. Girls or boys could read this book, but I think girls would like it the most.
Foal In The Fog April 26, 2004 This book is a sad yet Life learning experience. Such as friendship and Death. The main charecter is Mandy Hope since her parents have ever started there buiesnes Animal Haven she has cared for animals and there souls since then. This also shoes how somthing bad can turn into somthing happy and beautiful.
Playful ponies January 31, 2004 Have you ever seen a ghost? I know most people don't believe in ghosts, but this one was so real: Curiosity is the ghost and she is a pony that died in a car accident. Mandy the protagonist had to help Abby get over her pony's death and to try to help her stop blaming herself for Curiosity's death. Mandy is Louise's cousin; Abby is Louise's friend. Abby had been seeing her pony's ghost for a while and when Mandy came to visit her cousin Mandy saw the ghost too. Abby told Mandy that it was her pony's ghost and she was right it was. What was Mandy to do? Who was she to turn to get help? It was up to Mandy. This book is for any pony or horse lover. I found it to be very exciting .This novel made me feel like I should just keep reading like a what's going to happen next? kind of book. The setting of this book was great, a well kept up clean farm with hills of a dark green grass and then the barn the was a red brown brick color and with the grass surrounding that barn made it all the more beautiful. The farm had lots of ponies-- twelve ponies to be exact. A lot of times I felt like I was in the story; I mean I would just imagine myself being in the situation with Mandy. Well anyway I had a great time reading this book. Overall it was a great book to read. At some points the book moved a little slow but I gathered the details from that section and just read on to enjoy the rest of the book and to figure out the mystery.

A really great story - one of the best Animal Arks. My daughter adored it, and it has really helped her reading come on.
